    Prevent Blindness Receives Surprise Gift from the FirstEnergy Foundation for their “12 Gifts of the Season” Campaign

Cleveland, OH (Dec. 14, 2017) –The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness received a $1,000 contribution from the FirstEnergy Foundation to go towards their sight-saving programs and services. The foundation awarded 132 nonprofit agencies gifts, a total of $132,000, as part of their “12 Gifts of the Season” campaign.
The campaign was revived after last year’s overwhelming success when 12 organization received a $5,000 contribution from the foundation. In addition, the campaign is an expansion to their “Christmas in July” campaign, where 12 organizations received $10,000 earlier this summer. Winners were chosen by FirstEnergy employees, who recognized organizations that go above and beyond in the community.
“We are grateful to the FirstEnergy Foundation for their partnership in helping us protect the precious gift of sight by providing services that help individuals adopt healthy habits in regard to eye care and eye safety,” said Sherry Williams, President and CEO of the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness.
