2018: Prevent Blindness Appoints Paulette Tattersall as the Director of Northeast Region

Paulette Tattersall: The New Director of Prevent Blindness Northeast Region

Prevent Blindness has announced the appointment of Paulette Tattersall as the Director of Northeast Region, effective May 1, 2018. Tattersall is succeeding Kathy Majzoub who has been in the position since the established of the Northeast Regional Office in 2008.

Prior to this role, Tattersall worked for New England College of Optometry as Pediatric Program Director for New England College of Optometry Mobile Eye Clinic. In this role, she led and managed Massachusetts first mobile eye clinic program that traveled throughout the state to provide access to eye care to underserved populations. Tattersall was responsible for renovation of 38 ft. van, development of brochure, program materials, consents, and adaption of clinic systems for Low vision and Pediatric eye care within HIPAA compliance for the mobile unit. Tattersall maintained relationship-building to nurture existing partners and identify new partnerships to expand outreach mission, she provided partner education and resources to enable successful targeting of the most at-risk children. Tattersall implemented data system to track outcomes, with her hands-on management she resolved operational challenges, improved outcomes and assisted in professional follow-up care. Tattersall supervised outward-facing coordination of Vision Screening Program to align with mobile clinic activity, ensured efficiency and partner satisfaction. Tattersall along with faculty professors, wrote grants to advance their work towards vision care. She also participated in state and federal government lobbying to support optimal vision health outcomes.

Tattersall in her new role as the Director of Prevent Blindness Northeast Region will lead Children’s Vision Massachusetts Coalition along with the Co-Chairs Jean Ramsey, MD and Bruce Moore, OD. .
