Prevent Blindness Elects Five New Members  to National Board of Directors

 

Andy Davis, Charles Garcia, Dr. Theodore Gillette, Dr. Stephanie Marioneaux and Patrick McDermott Join Board of National Non-profit Group

Prevent Blindness has announced that Andy Davis, COO of Bouchard Insurance; Charles Garcia, EVP, Director of Treasury Management, Associated Bank, N.A.; Dr. Theodore Gillette, President & CEO, I2, LLC.; Dr. Stephanie Marioneaux; and Patrick McDermott, President and Chief Innovation Officer, Transitions Optical; have been elected as new members to the Prevent Blindness Board of Directors.  The vote was held on March 10 at the 2017 Prevent Blindness Spring Board Meeting in St. Petersburg, Fla.

At Bouchard Insurance, Andy Davis’s responsibilities include oversight of the Property & Casualty, Personal Lines and Employee Benefit client service teams, client marketing, carrier relations and geographic expansion initiatives. He was most recently the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Advantica where he was responsible for providing senior leadership and strategic direction for the company’s sales, client retention, and marketing teams. Davis graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor of science degree in Marketing.

As the Executive Vice President, Director of Treasury Management at Associate Bank, N.A., Charles “Chuck” Garcia is responsible for strategic leadership and customer relationships with competitive treasury management solutions. He is a longtime Prevent Blindness volunteer, serving on the Prevent Blindness Texas Board of Directors for more than 15 years. He is also a member of the Association of Financial Professionals. Garcia graduated from New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business management.

Dr. Theodore Gillette is an eye care industry veteran who has been the senior executive of public and private companies and currently heads a regional eye care management group, I2, LLC.  However, the primary focus of his recent work has been on education, pediatric cognitive development and pedagogical innovation.  Dr. Gillette is the Head of Country Day Schools, an internationally recognized provider of PK-8 education, and is active in numerous eye care, education and business organizations. Dr. Gillette earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Florida State University and his Doctorate in Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry.

Stephanie Marioneaux, M.D, is a Board Certified ophthalmologist and is in solo private practice, specializing in cornea and external diseases and general ophthalmology.  She specializes in cataract surgery, laser procedures and corneal transplants.  She is currently an assistant professor in ophthalmology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School.  Dr. Marioneaux earned a bachelor of arts, cum laude in biology from Harvard Radcliffe University and Doctorate of Medicine from Harvard Medical School.  She completed her residency and corneal fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

As the President and Chief Innovation Officer at Transitions Optical, Patrick “Paddy” McDermott’s responsibilities include building excellence and ensuring a strong innovation pipeline.  McDermott has been with Transitions Optical since 1993 and was responsible for the start-up of Transitions Optical’s Ireland facility. He has also lead the Supply Chain, IT and Engineering Global functions at different stages in his career, as well as serving in Commercial and Marketing leadership roles. McDermott has a bachelor of engineering degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a master’s degree in management from Trinity College Dublin.
