Tessa’s Story

Tessa

My daughter, Tessa, was screened at her preschool by Prevent Blindness Wisconsin and it turns out she needed glasses! If the PBW screener hadn’t detected the problem, she probably would have developed “lazy eye,” which may have required patching. I have a history of eye problems in my family and was looking for a sign of a “lazy eye,” but did not realize that there would have been a problem before that symptom occurred.

Tessa is now wearing glasses and does not take them off! She has told me that she can see better now and I sometimes catch her staring at things differently!
