Beth VerHaagh thought she was seeing the world just as clearly as everyone else but because of undetected amblyopia her visual acuity was so bad she could not even see the chart! Thanks to early detection by Prevent Blindness Wisconsin volunteers, Beth received care at a young age which made it possible for her to reach and maintain her prescription goal of 20/40. Beth graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies and will be attending graduate school in hopes of becoming a physician assistant. She enjoys spending time with family, friends and her rabbit, Moose, as well as attending Badger football games with her fiancé.
